Why is your Tencel easy to Pill and Shrink? Wash it Wrong!

Tencel quilt has many advantages. It's definitely a good choice in summer. But in the cleaning process, we found that many people do not pay much attention to the method, leading to the Tencel pilling, fuzzing, running silk, shrinkage, folding and other issues. So how should the Tencel be cleaned?

1. Machine wash, easy to fuzz and pill

Machine washing can make Tencel under repeated external friction, and the giant fibrils in the fibers can easily be separated from the surface, forming a similar effect to peach skin velvet, which is what we usually call hair raising. Therefore, when cleaning Tencel, hand washing is better. Hand washing is not convenient, you can also step on it.

2. Tencel soaks and pills easily.

When cleaning tencel, do not soak or wash it for too long.

Because Tencel fibers have good hygroscopicity, long time immersion, the movement between fibers in water increases, and the friction coefficient increases. Tencel quilt tends to pill and pill easily.

3. Drying, easy to pill

After cleaning the tencel, if twisted and dried by machine, the Tencel yarn is easy to break off because of its strong rigidity, which leads to hairiness. The result is the fuzzing and pilling of the fabric. The best way is to take water to dry.

4. Tencel is easy to shrink and fade when exposed to sunlight.

Because Tencel absorbs moisture and dyes well, it can not be dried or exposed to the sun at high temperature; otherwise, it is easy to shrink and fade the quilt. So after cleaning, squeeze out the water and dry it in a relatively ventilated and dry place. In fact, all fabrics are not suitable for sun exposure.
